EuroMillions Lottery
Euromillions is a pan-European lottery that was originally created by three major lottery operators; Camelot (from the UK), Francaise des Jeux (from France) and Loterias Apuestas del Estado (from Spain). Launched on 7th February 2004 the first ever draw for Euromillions took place on Friday 13th February 2004. Although just three countries where originally involved it was only in October of the same year that Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Switzerland and Portugal all became involved.
There are two draws a week for Euromillions, a Tuesday and a Friday, and they take place in Paris at 19.45 GMT (20.45 CET). The Tuesday draw was introduced in May 2011 at which time two additional Lucky Star numbers were added to the previous matrix of 5/50 and 2/9. Players now have to choose 5/50 and 2/11. In addition to the extra Lucky Stars there are now thirteen prize tiers for the Euromillions lottery. If you are a lucky winner when playing the Euromillions lottery then it is worth noting that with the exception of Switzerland, all prizes (including the jackpot) are tax-free and payable in a lump sum.

The minimum jackpot offered by the Euromillions lottery is £13/€15 million but often there are rollover jackpots. In addition there are also Super Draws and Event draws although to date we have yet to see one of the latter. A Super Draw for £85/€100 million took place for the inaugural Tuesday Euromillions draw which rolled over to produce a jackpot of £105,892,179 / €121,019,633 which was won by a player from Spain.
Some countries offer additional bonus games with the sale of Euromillions tickets thus increasing the cost per ticket for their players. The UK offer Millionaire Raffle, Ireland and Portugal the "Plus" option.
Euromillions Jackpot Cap
In March 2009 the rules changed for Euromillions governing the maximum rollovers. This was replaced with a Jackpot Cap meaning that the largest jackpot that could ever be offered for matching 5 main numbers and 2 Lucky Stars will be €185 million in the first instance. Should the cap be reached again then each further instance will be increased by €5 million. This means that should the prize pool reach the cap then any funds in the prize pool over and above the cap will be rolled down to the next winning prize tier regardless of whether a jackpot winner was found.
The Jackpot Cap was first reached on Friday 8th July 2011 and whilst no match 5 and 2 Lucky Star winners were found on this draw, six players matched 5 main numbers and 1 Lucky Star to take home a prize of over £3.3/€4.5 million each.
The jackpot prize remained at €185,000,000 for the following draw on Tuesday 12th July 2011 where a match 5 and 2 Lucky Star winner was found from Largs in Scotland. However there were still funds in the prize pool to roll down and eleven players who match 5 main numbers and 1 Lucky Star each won over €2.5/£1.7 million each.
However, as of the 17th February 2012 the rules regarding the Euromillions Jackpot cap changed again, meaning that now the jackpot cannot rise above the cap of €190 million. No longer will it increase by €5 million every time it is reach and the jackpot can only stay at €190 million for two consecutive draws. If by the second draw no jackpot winners have been found, the top prize in the EuroMillions will roll down and be shared amongst the next winning prize tier.

Euromillions lottery play is no longer restricted to residents of participating companies thanks to a lottery concierge service. Buying your tickets online is quick and easy with just a simple registration to the service required. When you have created your account you have multiple options for buying your Euromillions tickets with the minimum purchase of three lines of five main numbers and two Lucky Stars. You can purchase a maximum of 10 lines per draw and then you need to choose how many draws to enter from 1 to a maximum of 52.

Winning notification emails are sent for all prize tiers. Should you be a jackpot winner then you have two choices for claiming your prize:
- You can collect your winnings in person. The concierge service will hand you your ticket.
- You can ask the concierge service to collect your winnings for you and then have the money directly transferred to your bank account.
