The Mega Millions Lottery is a bi-weekly game played in 43 different jurisdictions across the United States of America; draws take place on a Tuesday and Friday and we often see the Mega Millions numbers produce multi-millionaires. To participate in the Mega Millions game players have to choose five main numbers from 1-56 and 1 "MegaBall" from 1-46, you are also offered an additional option of purchasing a "Megaplier" for an extra fee with will multiple any non-jackpot prizes by either 2x, 3x or 4x the winning amount.

To be a jackpot winner players are required to match 5 main numbers and the Megaball and with rollovers quite a regular occurrence there have been some impressive Mega Millions jackpots created by this lottery. To date the largest jackpot came about in March 2012 when continuous rollovers saw it reach an impressive $656 million. This jackpot was won by three players, one from Illinois, another from Kansas and the third from Maryland.

In total there are nine different prize tiers for the Mega Millions lottery of which six require that you match the Megaball. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 49.89 but to be a jackpot winner you have a 1 in 175,711,536 of matching five main numbers and the Megaball.
