EuroMillions Rolls Over Eleven Times

Friday September 9th 2011

There is one lottery game that the world will have its eye on this evening and that is the EuroMillions. After no players picked the winning numbers on the draw that took place on Tuesday, the EuroMillions rolls over eleven times to bump the jackpot up to a massive €146 million or £126 million for those players in the UK - which is a big thing in lottery news. Of course this is an estimated jackpot and we won’t actually know the true figure until the draw actually takes place.

Most players in the UK will be hoping to see the EuroMillions jackpot pass the record breaking jackpot won by British couple, Colin and Chris Weir from Largs in Scotland. They won the biggest single ticket lottery win in the UK on the EuroMillions in July 2011 of €185 million or £161 million and if not won this lottery game will exceed that very soon.

Friday draws are always more popular than the midweek draws and with the jackpot being so high, we could see a huge jump in the EuroMillions jackpot for this draw on Friday but officials are usually fairly accurate with their estimations.

Last Friday the EuroMillions boasted a jackpot of €125 million so the estimated jackpot for this evening has risen by €21 million in a week. If not won this evening we can expect this jackpot to rise by at least the same amount in the following seven days, if there is no winner on the midweek draw of course. However, if it does roll over for a twelfth time, a weekly rise of more than €21 million would be expected due to increased interest and ticket sales.
