Shallotte resident Holmes, who immediately went into hiding after the revelation, said that she had recently quit her jobs at Walmart and McDonald’s to care for her family and was searching for new employment when she bought the lucky Quick Pick ticket from Scotchman store in the town. She intends to create college funds for her children with her $188 million share of the jackpot as well as pay tithes, ten percent of earnings, to her church.

The winning numbers were 11, 13, 25, 39 and 54 with Powerball 19 and Power Play 3 with the other two jackpot winning tickets being sold in Ponce, Puerto Rico and Princeton, Texas. The owners of those tickets are yet to come forward to pick up their prizes, with both having 180 days from the date of the winning draw in which to stake their claim with their local lottery.
