Powerball Results

Powerball is one of two multi-state lotteries available in the US and currently of the 50 states, 44 participate in the Powerball with the most recent addition being the Ohio who joined on April 16th, 2010. The current matrix was introduced on January 7th, 2009 and in order to play Powerball participants are required to choose five numbers from 1-59 (white balls) and one Powerball from 1-35 (red ball).

To win the main jackpot, players need to match all the main Powerball Winning Numbers and the red Powerball. This lottery has produced some phenomenal jackpots since the first draw. The largest ever jackpot produced happened on February 18th, 2006 and was won on a single ticket in Nebraska held by a syndicate of eight people.

There are eight other prize tiers available in the Powerball game of which four (excluding the main jackpot) require matching the Powerball number. The overall odds of winning any prize when playing Powerball are 1 in 31.84 but to win the main jackpot the odds are currently 1 in 175,223,510.
