There are three draw machines currently used for this lottery and six balls sets. The choice of machine and ball set for each draw is done using a random number generator. One is used for the main numbers and the other to determine the Mega number. The main balls are white with the Mega balls being blue.
Of the total amount generated by ticket sales for the California Super Lotto 50% remains for the prize fund, 34% is used for public education with no more than 16% being used to the administrative expenses (3.4% operating, 2.9% game expenses and 6.9% for commissions and bonuses to retailers).
Should you get lucky and win a jackpot playing this lottery game then you have two choices for claiming your prize. Option A is to take the Cash Option; this means that you will take home an estimated 45-55% of the jackpot amount. Option B is to go for the Annual payments which will see you bank more money in the long term but does mean that you would be paid in 26 payments, each increasing in size every year.
