$20 Million Lotto Texas Ticket Bought at San Augustine Gas Station

Friday November 4th 2016

The usually quiet town of San Augustine, Texas has come alive after it was reported a $20 million-winning Lotto Texas ticket had been bought at a local gas station. The entry was purchased from a Chevron store on Highway 103 ahead of Wednesday’s drawing and regional manager Amber Rajani admits she is “speechless” at the news it has won its owner an eight-figure sum.

The winner is yet to come forward and it is not known whether they are a local or were just passing through the area when they made the fateful decision to play the state’s own big money lottery game. They now have 180 days in which to present the ticket, which matched the winning numbers 3, 4, 29, 31, 33 and 50, to lottery officials in Austin and receive their giant check. The lucky ticket holder bought their entry for the “Cash Value Option”, meaning they will receive a $14.45 million one-off payment when they claim.

Amber Rajani excitedly told ABC9 KTRE she was expecting a package of promotional material from the Texas Lottery to promote the fact they sold the winning ticket for November 2nd and lotto fans were already turning up to the store to play their lines, hopeful that some of the good luck would rub off on them.

Lottery players in Texas can take part in national drawings like Powerball and Mega Millions, as well as a host of state-only games such as Texas Two Step and Lotto Texas. See the Texas Lottery page for the latest winning numbers.
