There has been a great deal of speculation since the largest jackpot of the year was won on Saturday 10th June, and Lindsay was eager to keep his profile as low as possible as he collected his money. While his name had to be released under California state law, Lindsay declined to have a photo taken and asked for privacy as he continues to come to terms with what has ‘already been an overwhelming process’.

Lindsay was nevertheless delighted to have become one of the biggest Powerball winners in history, saying: “We are obviously thrilled with this tremendous stroke of luck and are still getting our arms around what it means for us.”

Lindsay added that he will now work closely with a team of advisors to make sure that he can support his family and causes that are close to his heart ‘for many generations to come’. California Lottery officials have also congratulated Lindsay and his family on their big win, while the store which sold the winning ticket has received a $1 million bonus.

Three of the four Powerball jackpots to have been won this year have now been claimed, although there has still not been any word from the Wisconsin player who landed $155 million in the drawing on Wednesday March 22nd .

The jackpot currently stands at $205 million after nobody won last night, and fans of the game can try to win by visiting authorized retailers in participating states or picking numbers online. Good luck!
