The biggest Lotto Max jackpot sold in British Columbia this year has finally been claimed. Canada’s Lotto Max winner comes forward to claim their winnings after scooping a monster $35,738,798 jackpot on Friday. The winning lottery ticket was purchased at a Chevron Town Pantry in Campbell River on Tuesday for the draw that took place on Friday and as expected, the winner did not take too long to step forward and make their claim.

This Lotto Max winner has been named as David Rennie and he works for a local steel company. He buys his lottery tickets from the same store every week, but when he handed in his ticket for this particular draw, the lottery machine went down. This could have been and omen but for David it was the start of what he described as ‘whirlwind.’

As soon as his check for his Lotto Max win is deposited safely into his bank account, David plans to quit his job and take things easy for a while. He plans to go to Vancouver for a hockey game with the whole family and a couple of friends on Tuesday and says ‘I don’t care if it costs thousands, because who cares, right? I’ve got lots of money.’

Life for the Lotto Max winner has been pretty good since his lottery win but he describes it as ‘kind of surreal.’

The next Lotto Max draw will take place on Friday 27th May and if you buy a lotto ticket for this draw, you will be playing for a jackpot of an estimated $10 million.
