The single ticket matched all five main numbers and the red Powerball in the February 14 drawing to take home the $185.3 million top prize. The winning numbers were white balls 16, 25, 27, 49 and 55, and the Powerball was 17. The Power Play was 3x.

The lucky ticket was sold by One-Stop Convenience Store, located at 914 South Main Street in Cheshire. The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus from the lottery for selling the ticket.

"Wish it was me! Absolutely," said Pat, one of the store's customers. "It is what it is. You're lucky, you're lucky – if you're not, you're not."

The winner will have the option to receive the full advertised jackpot as an annuity paid as 30 installments spread across 29 years, or a smaller cash value lump sum payout of $123.9 million.

And there’s another reason for Connecticut players to celebrate today: the CT Lottery Corporation (CLC) marks a milestone birthday on February 15 - it’s been 50 years since the first day of ticket sales in 1972.

Connecticut is the fourth Lottery nationwide to have achieved its Golden Anniversary, following Vermont, New York, and New Jersey.

The Powerball jackpot has been won once previously in 2022. Cliff and Tammy Webster of Oneida, Wisconsin recently claimed half of the $632.6 million jackpot won in the January 5 drawing. The other winning ticket was purchased in California and the winner has not come forward yet.

The prize was the game’s seventh-highest ever jackpot. Powerball’s biggest prize was a record-breaking $1.586 billion, which was won in January 2016 by three tickets in California, Florida, and Tennessee.

More Monday Powerball Winners

The other big winner on Monday night was a ticket in Michigan that scored the Match 5 $1 million second prize for matching all five white ball numbers.

There were over 378,000 winning tickets in last night’s draw. Powerball features a total of nine ways to win, so make sure to check your numbers and see if you’re due a payout!
