The new version of Lotto America launched almost five years ago, in October 2017. The game had originally existed between 1988 and 1992 under a different format that would ultimately go on to become Powerball.

When it restarted in 2017, it began with a jackpot of $15 million as it used funds from the discontinued Hot Lotto game. The grand prize kept building until a family from Minnesota won $22.8 million on March 14, 2018.

The jackpot has never seen those heights again until now, with Monday’s draw offering the chance to win $23 million. Nobody matched all the numbers, so it will keep pushing upwards until someone wins.

The last time the jackpot was won was back in July 2021, when a man from Oklahoma City won $8 million.

There are 13 states that participate in Lotto America - Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee and West Virginia.

It does not have quite the same player pool as Mega Millions or Powerball, but it is still able to offer jackpots that begin at $2 million. A third weekly drawing was introduced in July, allowing the jackpot to grow more quickly.

It only costs $1 per line to play Lotto America, half the cost of Mega Millions or Powerball, and the odds of winning the jackpot are far more favorable. Adding the All Star Bonus feature gives you the opportunity to boost the value of non-jackpot prizes.

You can play Lotto America every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and use the Checker afterwards to find out if you are a winner.
