Lotto Max has one winner

Tuesday April 27th 2010

We brought the news to you last week that the Canadian Lottery game, Lotto Max, was nearing MaxMillions status. This is when the jackpot reaches its ceiling of $50 million. When this happens individual $1 million prizes are created. With the jackpot standing at $41 million for the draw on Friday, expectations were high for this lottery game in that no one would match the winning numbers which would almost certainly mean that MaxMillions status would be reached. The news that the Lotto Max had one winner on Friday means that this did not happen.

Of course many Canadian lottery players will be disappointed that there will not be the chance of the individual $1 million prizes on the Canadian Lotto Max this time. However, one lucky ticket holder is almost $42 million richer after matching all seven of the winning numbers.

The winner has not yet come forward to claim their Lotto Max jackpot prize, but we can tell you that the winning ticket was purchased in Edmonton, Western Canada. So if you buy lottery tickets in that area, and are holding Lotto Max tickets for Fridays draw, you may want to check them if you haven’t done so already.

lottery players from Edmonton have done very well with jackpot wins lately. This latest Lotto Max win, comes less than a month after another player from Edmonton scooped a half share of the $41 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

Those who play Lotto Max regularly will now see the jackpot return to its starting point of $10 million for the next draw.
