Wednesday December 11th 2013

Mega Millions fever is raging across the US as the jackpot is now worth a massive $400 million. The jackpot, which is the second largest in Mega Millions history, is a result of there being no top prize winners in the previous 20 draws.

The Mega Millions numbers drawn last night were 5, 12, 22, 41 and 65 with the Mega Ball 13 and the Megaplier 2. Match 5 was the first winning prize tier and saw a total of five ticket holders each win $1 million. The winning $1 million tickets were purchased in Connecticut (1), Massachusetts (1), New Jersey (1) and Ohio (2).

A further 87 ticket holders matched four main numbers and the Mega Ball to each win $5,000. However, as nine of these tickets holders opted for the Megaplier, their win doubled to $10,000. In total, last night’s draw saw almost 5.2 million players win a prize, sharing a prize pool of $14.2 million.

As this is now the second largest jackpot in Mega Millions history, ticket sales for Friday’s draw are certain to be high. With a huge jackpot at stake, retailers are expecting long queues so it is advised that players purchase their tickets for Friday’s draw in plenty of time to be in with a chance of winning the life-changing $400 million jackpot.
