MegaMillions Jackpot of $120 million Won – Was It You?

Wednesday September 12th 2012

For the second time in a row, the MegaMillions jackpot has been won by a Californian ticket holder, who successfully matched all five numbers and the Mega Ball. The jackpot for the MegaMillions has been rolling over since 27th July 2012, when it reached $52 million and was won by Marita and Bladimir Agnite of Fremont, California. This time around, the jackpot has reached an incredible $120 million, and although as of yet it is too early to have any details regarding the ticket holder, one thing is definite – they will be coming into a lot of money soon!

Winners of the MegaMillions have the option to take their lottery win either as a single lump sum cash payout, or in 26 annual payments, often called the Annuity option. In the Annuity option, players receive $38,500 per year per $1 million of the jackpot. So, should the winner accept the annuity option, they will receive a massive $4.62 million per year (before taxes). All players are advised to check their tickets to ensure they don’t have a fortune waiting for them!

It must be a lucky time for Californian residents, as two other Californian ticket holders matched all five numbers too, to win the second tier prize of $250,000 along with four other players. However, this luck does not seem to be spreading across to the Californian SuperLotto, which has been rolling over since 25th July 2012 and has just topped $20 million in time for its next draw tonight. But that could all change later on when those numbers are drawn.

We wish good luck to all players and say congratulations to the winners of that fantastic $120 million MegaMillion prize.
