North Carolina Powerball WinnerMonday June 22nd 2009
A North Carolina Lottery player won a Powerball jackpot of $88,100,000 on Saturday 20 June, 2009. He or she beat odds of 1 in 195,249,054 and matched the five main numbers (03, 11, 18, 22 and 28) as well as the Powerball (33) to become the latest lucky multi-millionaire. The winner will now need to decide whether to take the Powerball prize as a cash lump sum or a series of annual instalments.
This latest win comes just a few weeks after a 23 year old rancher from South Dakota won a Powerball jackpot of $232 million. Neal Wanless opted for the cash lump sum option and took home $88.5 million after taxes.
The Powerball jackpot has now been reset and players have a $20 million jackpot to aim for this Wednesday 24 June, 2009. Players who don’t live in a participating state can buy lottery tickets online and stand exactly the same chance of winning as anyone else. Even better, you’ll receive an email if you win a prize, so you won’t need to worry about forgetting to check your numbers.
Of course, if you do want to check your numbers, you can easily do so by visiting our Lottery Results page which provides results for all of the main lottery games around the world. Good luck!
