PowerBall jackpot is wonFriday November 13th 2009
All eyes around the world have been firmly placed on the US multi-state lotteries this week and now the Powerball jackpot is won not long after the big MegaMillions jackpot. Both of them have boasted huge multi-rollover lottery jackpots and with the MegaMillions jackpot of staggering $77 million being claimed by two lucky lottery ticket holders on its last drawing focus moved to the Powerball game.
Players in the US firmly focused on the $96 million Powerball lottery jackpot, which carried the larger jackpot of the two. We can tell you that one lucky lottery ticket holder from Kansas has scooped this massive prize on the Wednesday night drawing. 12 lucky lottery players also scooped a $200,000 prize for matching five numbers on the PowerBall lottery. The winning numbers were, 8, 12, 14, 22, 29 and the PowerBall was 22.
The PowerBall now returns to its starting point of $20 million for the next draw. With both of the big multi-state lottery jackpots now claimed, many lottery players will now find themselves scanning the various state lotteries when they next buy lottery tickets online in search of the biggest jackpots. Of course, a state lottery is much smaller than the MegaMillions and PowerBall lottery, so the chances are that even when not rolled over, these two multi-state lotteries will still offer the biggest jackpots unless of course a state lottery has rolled over several times.
The are not yet any details of the PowerBall or MegaMillions winners but as soon as the winners have come forward to claim their prizes and details are revealed, we will of course bring this news to you.
