Powerball Jackpot Surpasses $200 Million Mark

Wednesday August 8th 2012

The biggest jackpot on offer to win at the moment is in the Powerball as players haven’t been able to match the five main numbers and Powerball drawn for 12 draws now. Therefore the Powerball jackpot has surpassed the $200 million mark and tonight’s jackpot is estimated at an impressive $212 million so the question is, will any ticket holders strike lucky tonight and become the latest Powerball jackpot winners or will it rollover again?

The last time the jackpot went above the $200 million mark was in June 2012. After multiple rollovers the top prize hit $240 million on the 13th June 2012 and in this draw one winning ticket which was sold in Iowa matched the five plus Powerball combination drawn to scoop this impressive top prize.

The largest amount won this year in the Powerball was a very impressive $336 million which was won on the 11th February 2012 by a winning ticket purchased in Rhode Island. Therefore, if no one wins this Powerball jackpot any time soon we could see the top prize carry on rolling over and go past the largest amount won this year.

For players who are yet to purchase their Powerball tickets for tonight’s draw it is interesting to see that the most often drawn numbers in this lottery are 20, 41, 32, 16, 42 and 26. Whether any of these numbers are drawn in the Powerball results tonight remains to be seen but make sure you have your tickets ready if you fancy winning the jackpot.
