Ripley Lotto LandedWednesday February 4th 2009
A lottery player in Ripley is planning a road trip across the USA after matching five main numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on Saturday 24 January, 2009. Ricky Hart, who is 22 years old, is also planning to buy a Mini Cooper S with his £101,088 win.
Ricky is a self-employed bricklayer and he buys lottery tickets online. “I was going through my emails, checking my account because I knew I had won £14 on Friday night’s EuroMillions draw,” Ricky explained. “I received an email telling me there was some news about my ticket and went straight to it thinking it was about my £14 from Friday. I was a bit taken aback when it said I had won £101,088.”
Ricky continued: “I was shaking with excitement when I started telling my family. When I called my dad he shouted with joy down the phone. He was at work at the time and was over the moon with the news. I think his work colleagues thought he’d lost the plot. Some fellow workers, who overhead the conversation, joked that dad had either become a grandfather or someone had won the lottery!”
Being a self-employed bricklayer is never easy, but it is particularly challenging in the current economic climate and Ricky was between projects when he won his six figure fortune.
“The win couldn’t have come at a better time,” he said. “Any win is fantastic, but the timing of this is spot on. I had already planned a road trip across the USA with a few mates in August, and now with the win it will be the trip of a lifetime.”
Playing the lottery online is becoming increasingly popular, and as Ricky will tell you, it can be every bit as profitable as playing the old-fashioned way. We congratulate Ricky on his success and wish other online players the lottery results they need to win just as big!
