Search is on for Scottish National Lottery winner

Monday January 17th 2011

National Lottery organisers have made a plea to players in North Ayrshire to recheck their lottery tickets following a big win in the area on New Year’s Day. According to officials, one ticket was sold in the region that matched five numbers and the bonus ball. As the winner has so far failed to come forward, it is likely they are blissfully unaware that they’re sitting on a cash prize of £120,100.

Anyone who decided to buy lotto tickets in the region ahead of the January 1 draw is being urged to find their slips and then check and recheck their numbers, in case they have the winning ticket.

A spokesperson for the lottery said: “We are desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. We’re urging everyone to check their old lottery tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.”

The winner has until 5.30pm on Thursday, June 30 to claim their prize before the cash is handed over to the National Lottery’s Good Causes fund.
