Slam Dunk Dollar$ Draw Lottery to launch

Monday November 2nd 2020

A new live sports lottery game, Slam Dunk Dollar$, is on the way, following an agreement between the National Basketball Assocation (NBA) and developer EquiLottery.

The licensing deal green-lights EquiLottery to develop an official NBA-themed basketball game, with lottery wins tied to the outcomes of live NBA games in the upcoming 2020-21 season.

EquiLottery is an innovator in the live sports lottery field and has already formed partnerships with NASCAR and the MBL and launched a live horse racing game, Win Place Show, with the Kentucky Lottery.

EquiLottery will be able to use the official logos and designs for the NBA and each of its teams, and will develop Slam Dunk Dollar$ using the patented platform it finished earlier this year.

It is currently unclear when the new NBA season, its 75th, will begin. Due to the coronavirus crisis, the start of the 2020 playoffs was pushed back to August, delaying the start of the next season, which would normally take place in mid-October.

The NBA is pushing to kick off the new season before Christmas, while the National Basketball Players Association prefers a January 18 start. Negotiations are ongoing after deadlines were pushed back four times, most recently until November 6.

About Slam Dunk Dollar$

The lottery component of the new game will be a Quick Pick ticket that will print with 10 NBA games. The games are selected at random, making Slam Dunk Dollar$ a game of pure chance and accessible even to players who are basketball novices.

To win a prize, the ticket must match between seven and 10 of the 10 winning teams. The game features four prize levels and favorable overall odds of winning of 1 in 6.

The cost of a ticket and the value of each prize tier has not yet been announced. It's also not yet known which US lotteries will offer Slam Dunk Dollar$ tickets
