After seven weeks and 15 draws without a top prize winner, both the prize and the excitement surrounding it have snowballed and, in just four days, the jackpot value has jumped by a staggering $70 million. For the first time in 20 years, two winning tickets were sold in the same state, New Jersey. One was to a 16 person syndicate who each won $3,872,445, after tax. The second winning ticket belonged to Mario Scarnici, who received $62 million, after tax.

An additional winner Paul White, from Minnesota, also shared in the success of Powerball’s third biggest jackpot.
