A 37-year-old truck driver from Battle, Sussex, has been named as the winner of last week’s £17.8million UK Lotto jackpot. Matthew Breach matched all six main numbers in the Lotto draw on Wednesday, March 9. The triple rollover jackpot winner will collect his prize at a press conference due to be held this morning.

Mr Breach, who is currently single, has been getting relationship advice from his mother Sandra, as well as financial guidance, according to a report by The Sun newspaper.

She said: "It's a shame he doesn't have anyone to share it with. But I've told him, 'If you get a woman now you'll have to get a pre-nup'.

"He's not the type to go abroad on holiday. In fact, he doesn't really go on holiday. He works very hard."

Mr Breach, who works for a builders' merchant, will certainly have time to take a break now he's a multi-millionaire. His bosses have said they don’t expect to see him back.

A friend of the lucky winner jokingly told The Sun last night that Mr Breach's decision to buy lotto tickets had instantly turned him into one of the UK’s most eligible bachelors.

"They'll be beating down his door now," he said.
