Since then, the jackpot has risen steadily. In the most recent drawings, there have been hundreds of thousands of winners in the lower prize tiers, including a $1 million Match 5 winner in Louisiana on July 15th. but none have managed to secure the grand prize, pushing the rolling jackpot higher.
If there is a jackpot winner on Saturday, they can choose between taking the $526 million as an annuity paid out over 30 years or opting for the immediate, one-time cash payout of $233.5 million (both options are subject to federal and state taxes).

Mega Millions: $672 Million
The Mega Millions jackpot is estimated to rise as high as $672 million in the next drawing, which is reportedly the 10th largest in the game’s history. The last time somebody won this jackpot was all the way back on March 10th, with a single ticket purchase in Ohio winning the $60 million prize.
Should a single ticket match all six numbers on Friday night, the winner can opt for the cash lump sum of $293.3 million or the annuity option. Unlike some lotteries, the Mega Millions annuity option features graduated payments that increase by 5% each year to help protect the winner's purchasing power against inflation.
