District of Columbia’s DC-2 Game Comes to an End
Tuesday February 24th 2026Lottery fans in the District of Columbia will no longer be able to enjoy DC-2 after the twice-daily game was brought to an end.
The final draws took place on Saturday, February 22, 2026. The Midday numbers were 6-5 and the Evening result was 8-4.
DC-2 had initially launched in 2018 as part of the DC Lottery’s range of ‘Pick-style’ games, along with DC-3, DC-4 and DC-5. All those games continue to be available.
DC-2 was a simple game which required you to pick a two-digit number between 00 and 99. You could try to match the numbers in exact order (known as a Straight) or any order (known as a Box). There were other bet types too and you could even choose your wager amount - $0.50 or $1.
The appeal of the game was the flexibility it offered in terms of how to play, as well as the excellent odds of winning. However, the prizes were modest at best - the highest payout was $50 for a $1 Straight wager - and so the decision has been made for the game to be retired.
All Change in D.C.
The game’s retirement comes at a time of change for the DC Lottery. The new Millionaire for Life game launched in the District of Columbia (and 30 states) on Sunday night. Lucky for Life had previously been played in D.C., but held its final draw on Saturday.
If you played DC-2 or Lucky for Life before they finished, you can still claim any prizes you won. The deadline for claiming is 180 days from the relevant draw date.
The DC Lottery sells tickets for a host of games, including Keno, Powerball and Mega Millions, and has raised more than $1.8 billion for the District’s General Fund since it was launched in 1982. It has also paid out more than $3 billion in prize money.
