It couldn’t be much simpler to play Millionaire for Life. Follow the steps below to take part.

  • 1. Select five main numbers from 1 to 58, plus an extra number from a separate set of 1 to 5. If you’d prefer to have a random selection, go for a Quick Pick instead.

Millionaire for Life Odds and Prizes

There are nine different ways to win in Millionaire for Life, so the overall odds of getting a prize are very favorable at approximately 1 in 8.4. To win the jackpot of $1,000,000 a year for life, you must match all the numbers. If you get all the main numbers and just miss the bonus, you’ll still receive $100,000 a year for life.

There’s also the option to take either of the top prizes as a one-time payment if you would prefer. The cash option for the jackpot is $18 million, and for the second prize it is $2.2 million. All the other categories have fixed payouts. The following table shows all the odds and prizes.

The top prize is divided equally between winners if there are multiple tickets that match all the numbers, but the second prize will only be reduced in the unlikely event that there are more than 20 winners.

Millionaire for Life FAQs

How long do the payments last? Prize payments for the top two prizes last for a lifetime. There is also a minimum period of 20 years, so if a winner dies before this time the rest of the money will go to their estate.

How do I claim a prize? You can claim prizes up to $600 directly from authorized retailers in the state where you bought your ticket. For larger amounts, you’ll need to claim by mail or go to a claim center.

What’s the time limit for claiming prizes? The claim period is different in each participating state, but the deadline is usually 180 days or one year after the draw.
