History of 2 by 2

Kansas and Nebraska first offered 2 by 2 to players in 2002, and North Dakota began selling tickets for the game in 2006. Wyoming and Idaho launched 2 by 2 sales in 2021. Separate versions of the game existed in Arizona, Iowa and Minnesota but have since been discontinued. Idaho stopped selling 2 by 2 tickets on August 26, 2022.

How to Play 2 by 2

All you need to do is pay $1 per line and select two red numbers between 1 and 26 and two white numbers between 1 and 26. It's that simple! You can also buy a multi-draw ticket that enters you into seven consecutive drawings, with an added bonus of qualifying for the 2 by 2 Tuesday option, where all prizes won on that day are doubled in value.

Claiming a Prize

Apart from the top $22,000 prize, most 2 by 2 prizes can be claimed at any lottery retailer in a participating state. You'll need to contact lottery officials in your state to complete the claims process if you win the top prize.

No matter what 2 by 2 prize you win, you'll only have a certain amount of time to claim it. In Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming, you'll have 180 days from the date of the drawing, while Kansas gives winners 365 days to come forward.

If you want to play 2 by 2 and redeem any prizes you might win, you'll need to be at least 18 years old in Idaho, Kansas, North Dakota, and Wyoming, and 19 years old in Nebraska.

If there are more than ten grand prize winners in a single 2 by 2 drawing, then the prizes will be allocated to winners on a pari-mutuel basis, meaning that the cash value of the top prize could change.

If someone contacts you out of the blue about winning a 2 by 2 prize and asks for your personal details, don't fall for it - it's likely that you're being set up for a lottery scam. Visit the scams page for more information about how to avoid becoming a target for fraud.
