Colorado Lottery search for new chief

Friday June 11th 2010

It is hoped that the Colorado Lottery search for a new chief will come to an end soon, but with no deadline set for the selection of the new lottery executive director, the process could just as easily take a little while longer. The Department of Revenue who oversee the Colorado Lottery have said that the application process has now closed and it is understood that applicants for this position with the Colorado Lottery will have to undertake a test, which will then be evaluated before interviews can take place.

The headquarters for the Colorado Lottery are in Pueblo and although potential applicants have not been advised that living is Pueblo would be a requirement, this is very much expected to be the case. So whether the selection process will depend on where applicants are currently living is a somewhat grey area as the Revenue Department claim they are unable to tell Colorado Lottery employees where to live, despite this being the expectation.

Whoever the successful applicant is, they will be replacing the former Colorado Lottery executive director, Jack Boehm who resigned from this position.

The Colorado Lottery offers less online games that most other US state lotteries, but it may be that the appointment of the new lottery executive director will trigger a few changes. The Colorado Lottery currently offers both PowerBall and MegaMillions to its players as well as Cash 5 and scratch off lotto tickets. It is understood that the traditional Pick 3 game is being planned, but once a new executive director is appointed the planning stages for the new lottery game could accelerate.
