UK lottery players will be clutching their tickets on Friday, anxious to discover if they’ve become one of 25 new Christmas Eve millionaires. The UK Millionaire Raffle takes place every Friday night as part of the EuroMillions draw, creating one new millionaire each week. But in a special Christmas twist, there will be 25 £1million prizes up for grabs in this week’s draw. The game will break the world record for the greatest number of millionaires created in one go.

Although the UK Millionaire Raffle is held alongside the EuroMillions draw, it is separate from the main jackpot which currently stands at £14million.

A National lottery spokesman said: “Everyone will be excited about the Christmas Eve draw, it will be amazing to create 25 millionaires and hopefully smash the world record.

“A million pounds must surely be the ultimate Christmas gift and for 25 ticketholders across the country this is guaranteed to be the most amazing Christmas Day ever.”

Anyone looking to buy lotto tickets has just four days left before ticket sales stop at 7.30pm ahead of the draw.
