High Ticket Sales Push the Mega Millions Jackpot to $586 MillionTuesday December 17th 2013
Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot, which was first estimated at $550 million, has now been increased to $586 million following a rise in last minute ticket sales.
The only Mega Millions jackpot to rise higher than tonight’s was the colossal $656 million prize, which was won in March 2012 by three ticket holders. With demand for tickets continuing to rise throughout the day, lottery officials are predicting that tonight’s jackpot could rise even higher and hit the world record $656 million mark.
Worldwide attention is now firmly focused on the outcome of tonight’s draw as, if a single ticket holder wins the jackpot, they would become the largest solo jackpot winner in Mega Millions history. Lottery retailers are expecting a last minute rush for tickets so we advise players who want their chance at scooping the jackpot to have their tickets ready in plenty of time for tonight’s draw. Mega Millions tickets can be purchased online via the Buy Tickets page or from an authorised retailer in any of the participating states.
Tonight’s Mega Millions results will be available shortly after the draw on the Mega Millions Winning Numbers page so don’t forget to check your numbers to see if you’re a winner!
