Illinois Mega Millions Winner Comes Forward

In this Mega Millions draw on the 30th March three winning tickets which were sold in Maryland, Illinois and Kansas matched the five main numbers along with the Mega Ball drawn in the results to split the very impressive jackpot. Now the final Mega Millions jackpot winner who is from Illinois has come forward to collect their jackpot win, meaning that they take home a very worthy $218.6 million.
As this winning ticket was sold in Illinois the rules of the Mega Millions in this particular state say that the identity of the jackpot winner has to be revealed. Therefore the holder (or holders if purchased as part of a syndicate) identity will be revealed today (Wednesday 18th April) when they will be presented with their check in the southern farming community of Red Bud.
The holders of one of the other winning tickets from this draw, which was sold in Maryland, came forward last week to claim their prize. This Mega Millions winning ticket was purchased as part of a syndicate by three school workers and even though they came forward to each receive their $35 million prize after taxes, they remained anonymous by hiding behind the oversized check they were given.
The third Mega Millions winning ticket which matched the Mega Millions results from this draw was bought in Kansas. the holder of this ticket came forward last week to claim their prize but chose to stay anonymous. This winner took the cash option which meant they received $157 million.
