Lottery Success for New Jersey Players

Wednesday May 18th 2016

Lottery players in New Jersey are currently riding on the crest of a wave of lottery luck after one player won an amazing Mega Millions prize of $1 million. The win came on the same day that the Smith family syndicate came forward to claim a $429.6 million Powerball jackpot.

Although the lucky seven-figure prize winner is yet to be identified, news sources have reported that ticket, which matched the five main numbers drawn but not the Mega Ball, was purchased from a 7-Eleven in Camden County. This is the second time this month that a 7-Eleven in New Jersey has produced a winning lottery ticket, with ‘The Smith Family Lottery Pool’ claiming a massive Powerball jackpot after purchasing their ticket from a branch in Trenton.

This latest win is the third $1 million Mega Millions prize won by a New Jersey resident in less than a month, with a convenience store in Burlington County and a liquor store in Springfield, Union County all selling tickets that ended winning a seven-figure prize. The fortunate ticket holder, who hit the lottery on Friday 13th of all days, was one of three players to claim $1 million from the Mega Millions draw, with Maryland and Texas producing the other winners.

Of course, New Jersey residents are no strangers when it comes to large lottery wins. The Garden State has produced such memorable winners as Pedro Quezada, a former grocery store owner, who won a colossal $338 million Powerball jackpot in 2013, and Helen and Harold Lerner who secured a Mega Millions jackpot worth $258 million in September 2005.

Remember, you don’t have to be from New Jersey to be in with a chance of winning this Friday’s mammoth Mega Millions jackpot, which is estimated to be worth $187 million. Tickets can be purchased online or from any authorized retailer in any participating states. Stay lucky!
