Massachusetts Lottery To Add Second Daily Draw to Mass Cash
Thursday July 10th 2025Massachusetts Lottery players will soon have the opportunity to enjoy Mass Cash twice a day, after the decision was taken to double the number of draws for the popular five-number game.

Starting July 20, a Midday draw will be added to the schedule, taking place at 2:00 PM ET. The 9:00 PM Evening draw will continue to be held every day as normal.
No other changes will be made to the game, so you’ll still be required to pick five numbers from a range of 1 to 35. It costs just $1 per play, and you can win up to $100,000 - the prize for matching five out of five - while there are also payouts for hitting three or four numbers.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 324,632 - that’s the best of any Massachusetts draw game!
Mass Cash History
Mass Cash has followed the same 5/35 format since it started in March 1991, although initially it was only drawn three times a week - on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. It became a daily game in July 2011.
The winning numbers are selected using numbered balls and a drawing machine, located in a secure area of the MA Lottery’s headquarters in Braintree. It is regularly tested to ensure randomness and integrity.
There was a mishap in a recent drawing on June 5, though, when the door on the drawing machine’s mixing chamber was inadvertently left open and a number of balls escaped before the first number was selected. This rendered the draw invalid and a new draw had to be conducted later in the evening.
The Massachusetts Lottery offers a wide range of other draw games, including Megabucks, Keno, Wheel of Luck, and The Numbers Game. There’s also multi-state lotteries such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and Lucky for Life, plus a host of scratch-offs.
You can buy tickets from authorized retailers in the Bay State, or order them online through lottery couriers such as Jackpot.com.
