North Carolina Lottery has 601 raffle winners

Wednesday September 22nd 2010

Earlier in the month we brought you the news that the North Carolina Lottery were delaying the draw for their Cash Splash Millionaire Raffle to allow more tickets to be sold as sales had been slower than expected. We can now tell you that the draw took place on Monday and as a result the North Carolina Lottery has 601 raffle winners. When the draw date was initially extended only about 200,000 lottery raffle tickets had sold out of a possible 500,000. The delay has meant that a further 19,319 were sold.

It is widely thought that the North Carolina Lottery have priced these raffle tickets too high at $20 each when a normal lottery ticket is just $1. In the past we have found that many state lottery raffles have sold out long before the draw leaving lottery players disappointed that they have missed out on these popular games. However, the extension of tickets sales means that the North Carolina Lottery have  managed to cover costs for running the raffle and also managed to make enough to donate a little to state education at the same time.

If you are a North Carolina lottery player holding a  lotto ticket for the raffle then you could be one of the 601 winners of the following prizes. Three ticket holders have won a $1 million prize and eight will walk away with $50,000. A further 30 will win $5,000 and 560 have won $50. So check your lotto tickets either online or through a local lottery retailer so see if you are a lucky raffle winner.
