Winning Powerball Numbers

The winning numbers from the Powerball draw on Wednesday 20th June were 4, 14, 23, 27, and 56, with Powerball 13. The Power Play was 2x. Nothing is known yet about the Oregonian winner or where they bought their lucky ticket, but they have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prize.

Another $6 million was handed out in prize money to 634,000 other winners, including a $2 million win for a Texan ticket holder who matched five numbers and also played the Power Play to double the original million-dollar prize. Fifteen players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball, with 11 of them playing the Power Play to double their prize money to $100,000.

See the Results page for more information about Wednesday’s draw, including a full prize breakdown. The jackpot has now reset to $40 million for the next draw on Saturday 23rd June.

Tennessee Man Wins Millions With Second Ever Ticket

Some people play Powerball for years before seeing a big win; for others, the good luck arrives much sooner. This was the case with Matthew Reed, a cabinet maker from Shelbyville, Tennessee, who won $2 million the second time he played the lottery. He matched five numbers in the draw on Saturday, June 16, and because he played the Power Play, he received twice the original prize of $1 million.

Mr. Reed travelled with his grandparents to the headquarters of the Tennessee Lottery in Nashville to collect his prize this week. Despite landing the enormous sum of money, he said he plans to carry on working and will invest some of his winnings. He bought his ticket from Serve & Go at 764 Madison Street in Shelbyville.

Leaving It Late: Winning Ticket Bought 15 Minutes Before Deadline

It was also revealed this week that a winner of a $669,000 Powerball prize bought her ticket only minutes before the sales deadline. It was back in February that Faten Alzer set off to a nearby 7-Eleven store in Marina Del Ray, Los Angeles, with only fifteen minutes to go until the 7pm sales cut-off. She got there in time to buy a Quick Pick ticket that earned her a six-figure prize in the Powerball draw later that night.

“I got to that 7-Eleven like literally minutes before the cut-off time!” Ms. Alzer said. “I’ll never forget it.” After checking her numbers online, she initially thought that she had only matched four numbers, and it was only after going back to check them a second time that Ms Alzer realised that the only number she was missing was the Powerball.

“I froze, honestly, for a couple of minutes and then double-checked – no, triple-checked the ticket again and then called my boyfriend,” she said. Ms. Alzer went on to say that the some of the winnings will be used to pay for a trip to Las Vegas, where she hopes her good fortune will continue.

If you want to take part in the next Powerball draw, you can buy a ticket from an authorised retailer in any of the 47 participating states and jurisdictions. The 10x Power Play is back in play now that the jackpot has reset to $40 million, giving you the chance to win huge cash sums even if you don’t land the top prize.
