Let’s talk numbers! The price of the Double Play option is $1.00 and the top cash prize is worth $10 million. In order to be able to add the Double Play feature, players must first enter the Powerball draw by choosing five numbers from 1 to 69 and a Powerball number between 1 and 26. The same numbers will be entered in both draws. The Double Play draw takes place shortly after the main Powerball draw, on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 10:59 PM EST.

The Power Play option will not change. You will still be able to add it for $1.00 per play. You can choose to enter both the Power Play and Double Play options. Although the Power Play option increases the Powerball winning for all prize levels (except the jackpot), Double Play prizes will not be affected in any way.

Participants can also add the multi-draw option which will allow them to enter up to 24 draws in a row, including the current drawing. However, between September 11 and November 5, the multi-draw option will be reduced. After November 5, the feature will return to normal.

Double Play Available in More States

Last month, the Iowa Lottery announced that they will also introduce the Double Play option for players who wish to enter Powerball. The date of the launch hasn’t been confirmed yet, however Iowa Lottery officials are hoping to make this option available from mid-September 2023.

Since its launch in August 2021, 17 lottery jurisdictions have added this option to Powerball tickets. These states are: Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington.

The current Powerball jackpot is estimated at $550 million and it has a cash value of $266 million. The grand prize was last won on July 19, 2023 in California and it was worth $1.08 billion. Make sure you enter the next draw and you could be the next jackpot winner!
