The ticket was purchased from the Federal Beer store on the 1400 block of Federal Street in the Point Breeze neighbourhood. The owner of the store, Ghanshyam “Gary” Patel, stands to receive a US$100,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket and is thrilled about his own windfall. He has said he will offer his three employees a nice vacation as well as adding to the college fund for his new-born twins.

When it comes to the mysterious jackpot winner however, all that residents of the neighbourhood are hoping is that it is a local person who will give back to their community. So if you either live in Point Breeze, or visited the area in the days prior to the Powerball draw on Saturday, check your tickets now to see if you are the lucky winner. If you are, sign the back of the ticket immediately and make yourself known to lottery officials so that you can collect your newfound fortune!
