Search on for $3.7m Canadian lottery winner

Thursday January 20th 2011

The search has begun for a Winnipeg lottery player who won last Saturday’s $3.7million Lotto 6/49 jackpot. Only one person managed to pick all six main numbers in the January 15 draw, which means they have the sole claim on the $3,662,519 jackpot. So far no one has come forward despite nearly a week passing since the game.

A lottery spokeswoman told the Toronto Sun: “We did have a winner. I don’t even know if they know yet...they haven’t brought their ticket forward.”

She urged players who went to buy lotto tickets for last Saturday’s draw to find their slips and either recheck the numbers by going to a lottery retailer or online through the website.

Canadian lottery players will have another chance to strike it rich in this Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 draw which has an estimated jackpot of $6million. The country’s Lotto Max draw which takes place on Friday (21) night has an estimated top prize of $46million.
