Lottery officials did expect there to be a winner on the Lotto 649 this weekend purely due to the amount of people flocking to buy lottery tickets for this game. Obviously the more people that play, makes the odds of finding a winner more favourable and this is what has happened here. This win will now see the Lotto 649 start with a new jackpot of $3.5 million for the next draw.

However, lottery players in Canada still have something to get excited about in the coming week as another of their lottery games fails to find a winner at the weekend. With a jackpot of $10 million up for grabs on Friday, the Lotto Max also failed to produce a winner which means that the jackpot for the next lottery draw has reached a massive $15 million. So it seems that excitement is set to race amongst Canadian Lottery players until the next draw at least, which will be Friday 26th March.
