Double Play is currently sold by the following 29 lotteries, with the potential for more to offer it in the future: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Washington.
If you live in or are visiting one of the jurisdictions that offers Double Play, you can add it to your Powerball ticket at the time of purchase; the cost is an extra $1 per play. Double Play is not available on its own and cannot be added later.
Your existing Powerball number choices are used for the Double Play draw, so you don't need to pick any new numbers.
Your Powerball ticket with Double Play is also able to win prizes in either or both draws!
Players can add both the Power Play and Double Play options to a Powerball ticket, although the Power Play multiplier does not increase Double Play prizes.
Double Play features the same chances of winning as Powerball. However, while Powerball has a rolling jackpot, Double Play has a fixed top cash prize of $10 million.
In both draws, five winning numbers are selected from the main pool of 1-69 (in Powerball, these numbers are white; in Double Play, they are black), and one red Powerball number is drawn from a pool of 1-26.
To win the top Double Play prize, a ticket must match the five black balls plus the Double Play Powerball number.
