The lucky ticket was sold at the Tops Market on Erie Road in Derby, just outside Buffalo in upstate New York.

The winning numbers in the September 4 draw were 4, 8, 30, 52, 59, and Powerball 2.

The winner has the choice between taking their prize as an annuity worth $80 million, which is paid in 30 installments over 29 years, or a single cash payment of $57.3 million. Both amounts are before taxes. Most winners opt for the cash option.

Wednesday's result is the fifth time the Powerball jackpot has gone off in 2019, and the second hit in New York within three weeks. Previous jackpot wins were $148 million in New York on August 17; $198 million in Tennessee on July 13; $344.6 million in North Carolina on June 1; and $768.4 million in Wisconsin on March 27.

A total of 824,840 players won prizes in Wednesday's draw, including a $1 million Match 5 win in Virginia, where the ticket matched all five white balls but missed the Powerball. Check your ticket and find out if you've won a prize!

Because the jackpot was below $150 million, the top Power Play multiplier of 10X was in place on Wednesday. Over 92,000 players benefited from 10 times greater winnings by adding the Power Play option for an extra dollar per play. However, the Match 5 + Power Play prize is fixed at $2 million no matter what the Power Play multiplier is.

The jackpot returns to its default starting level of $40 million, with a $28.7 million cash value, for the next draw on Saturday, September 7.
