Fredericksburg Powerball Winner Claims Biggest-Ever TX Jackpot
Tuesday October 14th 2025A few weeks on from the colossal Powerball jackpot win on September 6, the Texan player who matched all the numbers has come forward to claim their share of the money.

The jackpot, worth $1.787 billion, was split between two tickets - one sold in Missouri and one in Texas. The Missouri winner has already claimed their half, and now the largest lottery prize ever seen in the Lone Star State has also been officially paid out.
It has been claimed under the name of the Seven Bridges Revocable Trust, of Fredericksburg, TX, and a statement provided by a representative of the trust shed more light on a remarkable tale of good fortune.
According to the statement, the player usually selects random numbers via a Quick Pick, but on this occasion they decided to choose numbers that were meaningful to them. After purchasing the ticket - from Big’s 103, located at 11905 E. U.S. Highway 290 - they realized they had made an error. One of the numbers was different from their planned selection.
It turned out to be a very lucrative mistake, as they checked the numbers on the way to church the next morning and discovered they had a perfect match.
The winner’s half of the jackpot was worth $893.7 million as an annuity, but they had marked the cash value option at the time of purchase so it worked out at $410.3 million before taxes.
A Milestone to Celebrate
A statement from Seven Bridges Revocable Trust said: “We are Texas true to the state and its values. We believe in family, in faith, and in the blessings that come through both. This is a moment of gratitude for us, a blessing we plan to enjoy and share with those who are special to us and who serve our community. We ask for privacy as we look forward to enjoying our lives together as a family. God bless Texas.”
The retailer which sold the ticket, Big’s 103, has received a $250,000 bonus, while the win has also been welcomed by lottery officials.
“We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with the claimant of the largest jackpot prize in Texas Lottery history,” said Courtney Arbour, executive director of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), which now oversees the Texas Lottery. “This record-setting prize shows that any Texas Lottery ticket could be the next big winner, all while helping to generate vital funding for public education and veterans’ services right here in Texas.”
Texas had only previously celebrated two Powerball jackpot wins since joining the multi-state game in 2010. There have also been 15 Mega Millions winners in Texas, but none on the scale of this Fredericksburg payout.
Powerball gives you a chance to win multimillion-dollar jackpots three times a week - on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is played across 48 states and jurisdictions, and in some locations you can even take part online.
