Drawings are held twice a day – the Midday draw is at 12:59 PM ET and the Evening draw is at 10:57 PM ET.

The FIREBALL option replaces one of the winning Pick-4 numbers drawn with the FIREBALL number for more ways to win. If your numbers match any of the new FIREBALL combinations, you win a prize! FIREBALL doubles the cost of your wager.

The Instant Match option, available for an additional $1 per play, gives you another way to win. A set of ‘Instant Match’ numbers will be generated on your ticket, accompanied by a prize amount. If any of these numbers match your chosen Pick-4 numbers, you win the prize amount shown against the match. See the table below for odds and prizes.

Select a bet type – Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Wheel, or Pair. The bet type you choose dictates how your numbers need to match those drawn in order to win a prize.
Choose four numbers from 0 to 9, or select Quick Pick and your numbers will be randomly generated.
Decide on your wager amount - $0.50, $1, $2, $3, $4, or $5.
Choose the drawing you want to play: Midday, Evening, or both. Did you know you can play your chosen numbers for more than one drawing? Just select Multi Draw to play your lucky numbers for up to seven draws.
Select the Instant Match option for an extra $1 per play. Instant Match gives you the chance to win up to $500 on the spot. You can also choose the Fireball option to win more prizes for a additional entry fee.
Straight - Win by matching the winning numbers drawn in the exact order they are drawn.
Box - Win by matching the numbers drawn in any order. The numbers you select for this play type make a big difference for the game’s odds and prizes. Playing more ‘Ways’ means better odds, but lower prizes.
Straight/Box - This is simply the Straight and Box bet types combined in one purchase. You win both the Straight and Box prizes by matching the winning numbers drawn in exact order. Win the Box prize if you match the winning numbers in a different order. As this combines two bet types in one, the minimum play costs $1 based on a $0.50 base wager ($0.50 for Straight and $0.50 for Box). If you add FIREBALL, the minimum bet increases to $2.
Wheel – When you wheel your bets, it means you play all possible Straight combinations of your four numbers. You win if you match the numbers drawn in any order. You can play a 4-Way, 6-Way, 12-Way, or 24-Way Wheel, just like a Box, and the base wager amount is multiplied by how many ways you play.
Pair Bets - You only have to select two numbers instead of four. You win by matching the first two (Front Pair) or the last two (Back Pair) winning numbers in drawn-order.
The cut-off times for ticket sales are 12:53 PM ET for the Midday draw and 10:53 PM for the Evening draw.

Yes, all prizes are fixed for each bet type, in proportion to how much you wager. To ensure that it can always pay out prizes, the NJ Lottery imposes a limit on the number of wagers that can be placed on each particular four-digit combination.
The FIREBALL can replace any of the drawn numbers to make new combinations. It does not replace the numbers on your ticket.
You won’t be able to claim a prize if your ticket gets lost, but a damaged ticket could still be readable. If not, mail it in to the New Jersey Lottery, along with a claim form, so they can investigate. It is your responsibility to keep tickets safe and it is a good idea to sign the back of them.
