Pick 4 is a fast-paced, customizable draw game played in a number of jurisdictions, but each state lottery holds its own draws. Pick 4 features a $5,000 top prize on a $1 play, with draws held twice every day. There's a selection of wager types, allowing the player to choose their own odds, prizes, and how much they want to stake. The Sum It Up option also gives players an interesting additional way to win, if the sum of their numbers matches the sum of the winning numbers. Ever seen a lottery do that before?
The Day draw is held at 1:59 PM MT every afternoon and ticket sales pause at 1:54 PM. Night numbers are drawn at 7:59 PM every evening and the cut-off to buy tickets is 7:54 PM.
See the table below for a description of the wager types available, the prizes for each one, and the odds of taking home a prize.

The Sum It Up add-on offers an extra way to win for an additional $1 per play. If the sum of your Pick 4 numbers equals the sum of the numbers drawn, you'll win a prize! For instance, if your Pick 4 numbers are 1, 2, 3, and 4, they add up to 10. If the winning numbers also add up to 10 (for example, 0, 2, 4, 4), you'd win the Sum It Up prize. If you get lucky, you can even win the Sum It Up prize on top of the main game prize.

Simply select your favorite four numbers from 0 to 9 - or let the terminal choose via Quick Pick if you would prefer a random combination.
Your wager type determines how you can make a winning match with the numbers that are drawn - see the Prizes and Odds section for details. Depending on your choice, you can win by matching the numbers drawn in exact order, any order, or matching pairs of numbers.
How much you bet - $1, $2, or $5 - determines the value of the prizes available. The only difference between the wager amounts is that the $2 prizes are twice the size of the $1 prizes, and the $5 prizes are 5X the value of the $1 prizes, so it's all balanced.
Using your play slip, it's possible to enter your numbers and chosen play type in up to 70 draws in a row. Mark the number of draws you'd like to enter in the Multi Draw section: 2, 4, 6, 10, 14, 28, 42, or 70. Leave blank to play just the one draw. Once you've decided whether to play the Sum It Up option (more details below), you're all ready to make your purchase!
Straight - Win the top prize of $5,000 on a $1 play by matching all 4 winning numbers in the exact order drawn. For example, if you play 1-2-3-4, you only win if the numbers are drawn exactly as 1-2-3-4.
Box - Win by matching your 4 numbers in any order. Your layout and payout are determined by how many duplicate digits you select, which can form a 4-Way ($1,200), 6-Way ($800), 12-Way ($400), or 24-Way ($200) combination on a $1 bet.
Straight/Box - A combination play that splits your wager. If you match in exact order, you win both the Straight and Box prize payouts combined. If you hit your numbers in any other order, you win the Box prize portion.
Pairs - Play for a 2-digit exact order match on a $1 bet. You can choose to wager on the Front Pair (first two digits, e.g., 1-2-X-X), Mid Pair (middle two digits, e.g., X-2-3-X), or Back Pair (last two digits, e.g., X-X-3-4) to win a prize of $50.
You must be at least 18 years old to play Idaho Pick 4.
You must claim any prizes you win within 180 days of the relevant draw date.
This refers to how many of your numbers are duplicates if you play an Any Order wager. If you play three identical numbers out of four, for example 0001, there are ‘four ways’ those digits could be arranged – 0001, 0010, 0100 and 1000. A 6-Way has two pairs of identical digits (such as 2233), a 12-Way has two identical numbers and two that are unique (e.g. 4456), and a 24-Way has four different digits (such as 7890).
