Decide how you’re going to play your numbers – Straight, Box, Front Pair, Back Pair or Single Digit. More details can be found in the Bet Types section.
For Straight and Box wagers, select a three-digit number between 000 and 999. Choose your own or get an Easy Pick for a random selection. If you play a Pair bet, you only need to pick two numbers, while a Single Digit wager requires just one.
You can decide how much to wager, from a minimum of $0.50 to a maximum of $5. The more you put down, the more you can win.
Decide whether to play the Midday draw, the Evening draw, or both. You can play either time up to 21 drawings in a row, or 42 consecutive drawings if you play both.
Here is more information about each of the Pick 3 bet types. The way you play determines the odds of winning and also the prize amount you can receive. In Maine, any or all combinations of Straight, Box, Front Pair, Back Pair or Single Digit can also be played on a single ticket.
Straight - To win, match three numbers in the exact order they are drawn.
Box - To win, match three numbers in any order. Box play has two options - a 3-Way has two numbers that are the same (such as 112), while a 6-Way has three different digits (for example 123).
Pairs - For a Front Pair, you must match the first two winning digits in the correct positions. For a Back Pair, you must match the last two digits in exact order to win.
Single Digit - Match just one digit in the correct position to win – decide whether to wager on the First Digit (1XX), Second Digit X2X) or Third Digit (XX3).
The cut-off time for ticket sales is 1:00 PM ET for the Day draw, and 6:45 PM ET for the Evening draw.
