MyDaY is one of Nebraska's flagship lotteries, played only in the Cornhusker State. It's different to most other lotteries because instead of playing random numbers from one to however-many, your numbers represent a date! Your numbers are the Month, Day, and Year, which is why the game's name is capitalized like that: MyDaY.
Tickets cost $1 per play, and draws are held daily. The winning numbers are selected at 9:00 PM (CT) and we post them up on our MyDaY Numbers page right after, so you can check your tickets there.
MyDaY has seven prize tiers for matching different combinations of Day, Month, and Year. The top prize for matching all three is $5,000 - not the craziest jackpot by any measure, but the odds of winning this prize are far superior to most other lottery jackpots. Despite the unique format, MyDaY is easy to play - here's how it works.
On your play slip, you need to select a number from 1 to 12 (your month), a number from 1 to 31 (your day), and a two-digit number from 00 to 99 (your year).
You can only play dates that actually exist though - the lottery terminal will reject your slip if you try to play the 31st of April, for example. February 29th, the Leap Day, is permitted but only for years divisible by 4 (including 00).
Once you've picked your numbers/date, you're pretty much done. You can use the multi-draw box to enter your ticket in up to 12 consecutive draws, but this is optional.
All that's left is to hand the slip to the clerk and pay for your plays. Ticket sales are halted for a couple of hours each day between 03:00 and 05:00 a.m. as well as a brief three-minute pause at 9:00 p.m. when the drawing takes place.
In Nebraska, you need to be at least 19 before you can play lottery games, MyDaY included.
If you've won a MyDaY prize, you'll need to cash it in within 180 days of the draw you won. After this time limit is up, the ticket and its prize will expire, and cannot be redeemed.
Depending on how much you've won, you can claim your prize over the counter at any NE Lottery retailer, by mail, or by visiting one of the NE Lottery's claims centers. You can't, but it doesn't matter! When you pick your two-digit Year number, there's no way to specify whether you want it to be 1901 or 2001. They're just counted as the same play, so you don't need to worry about it.
