New York Win 4 draws are held twice every day, and you just need to pick four numbers from 0 to 9 to take part. You can select your own numbers or ask for a Quick Pick if you would prefer a random selection. Alternatively, you can use our generator or statistics page to help you get the set you need.
Customize your game by choosing from a variety of different play types and wager amounts to try and win cash prizes. A winning four-digit number is drawn at random when the game takes place, and you win prizes depending on the play type you selected.

You can add the Instant Win game to your play for an extra $1. This gives you the chance to win up to $500 at the point of purchase. A set of Instant Win numbers are randomly generated and printed on your ticket, alongside a prize value. If any of these numbers match the numbers that you have played, you win the amount that is shown. The table below shows all the odds and prizes.

There are multiple different ways to play Win 4 depending on what numbers you want to play. You can choose to match them all in the exact order, any order, or just specific sections. The way you play changes the odds of winning and therefore the payouts you can win. Check out the section below for a full description of each.
Once you have your play type, you then need to pick those numbers. You can do this manually, or ask for a Quick Pick for them to be chosen at random.
You can decide whether to wager $0.50 or $1 depending on how confident you are your numbers will come up. For Combination plays, the total cost will therefore range between $2 and $24.
You can choose to enter the Midday draw, Evening draw, or both on your ticket. Ticket sales close at 2:15 PM ET and 10:20 PM, with draws taking place at 2:30 PM and 10:30 PM. You can also pick to play up to 14 draws in a row.
If you play a Straight, you need to match the order of the winning numbers exactly. If the winning order is 1234, for example, you only win if you have picked 1234.
In Box play, you can win by matching the drawn numbers in any order. There are four different types of Box play, depending on which numbers you want to choose. The odds of winning and the prizes available are based on which type of Box you select. You can pick from 4-way (three identical digits, e.g. 1112), 6-way (two identical pairs, e.g. 3344), 12-way (has two identical digits, e.g. 1123) and 24-way (four unique digits, e.g. 1234) box options.
By playing a Straight/Box, you are playing both types at the same time. If you match the winning numbers exactly, you win with both plays. If you match the winning numbers, but not in the correct order, you win the Box prize only.
In Combination play, you select a set of numbers and all of the different straight combinations will be entered. You can play a 4-Way, 6-Way, 12-Way or 24-Way Combination. The difference to playing in a Box is that you have to pay for each combination but the prizes available are far greater.
Instead of selecting four numbers, just pick a two-digit number and specify whether you want to try and match the front pair or the back pair of the winning line. If you pick 12 as the Front Pair, for example, you win if the first two winning numbers are 12 and it does not matter which numbers follow.
Ticket sales close at 2:15 PM for the Midday draw, and 10:20 PM for the Evening draw.
Yes, you can play just the next draw, or up to seven consecutive days. Your numbers will be entered into both draws if you play Day and Evening.
One play costs $0.50 or $1 – you can select the wager amount you want on your ticket.
The minimum age to play any lottery game in New York is 18.
The New York Lottery is not responsible for lost tickets, so you won’t be able to claim if you cannot come forward with a valid winning ticket. If your ticket has been damaged, it is possible that you will be able to claim a prize if it can still be read.
