How to Play NY Take 5
To play Take 5, you need to choose five numbers between 1 and 39. You can get a Quick Pick or select your own. Decide whether to enter the Midday draw, the Evening draw, or both, and how many consecutive drawings to play.
The Midday draw takes place every afternoon at 2:30 PM EST, and the Evening draw is held every night at 10:30 PM EST. Pick up your tickets by 2:15 PM for the Midday draw and 10:20 PM for the Evening draw.
You can replay an old ticket from the last 30 days if you are happy to go with the same selections again, and there is an option to add Instant Win for an extra $1.
How to Win Take 5
Prizes start from matching just two numbers - where you’ll be awarded a free Quick Pick for a future draw - and the jackpot can be won by matching all five numbers.
However, if nobody matches all the winning numbers, the jackpot money goes down to the tier below.
Half of the ticket revenue is put towards the prize pool for each draw, with a portion allocated to each tier. The table below shows how much goes to each category, the odds of winning, and the estimated payout.
