Ohio Pick 3 offers a choice of wager types and amounts so you can play your way, and chances to win twice daily. Sunday through Friday the draws are held at 12:29 PM and 7:29 PM EST; the Saturday midday draw is also held at 12:29 PM but the Saturday evening draw occurs slightly later at around 7:45 PM EST in order to be broadcast during the Cash Explosion TV show.
The table below shows the odds and prize payouts for each wager type in Pick 3, based on a $1 bet. Prizes are half the amount shown if you bet $0.50:

Pick 3 In Ohio has several different play types that affect how you win prizes. The options are Straight, Box, Wheel, Pairs and Back-Ups. More information on all of these can be found below in the Play Types section.
Get Started
You then need to select your numbers. You must pick three numbers for every bet type, other than pairs where you only must select two in specific positions. If you are playing a Box or Wheel play type, then you will need to either pick three different numbers (e.g. 1-2-3) or two different numbers (e.g. 1-1-2) on your ticket.
Set up Advance Play
Next up is deciding how much you want to wager. Most play types let you choose between 50¢ and $1, whilst the Back-Up play types have a minimum wager amount of $1.

You can enter your numbers into multiple draws at once. You can enter both the daily draws at once, a single draw multiple times in a row, or both draws multiple times. Just select the option you want on your playslip and you’re good to go. The standard entry will be for the next upcoming draw if you do not specify something else.

Straight - Win if your numbers match the numbers drawn in exact order from left to right. Wager $0.50 or $1.
Box - Win if your numbers match the numbers drawn in any order. Wager $0.50 or $1. There are two kinds of boxed bets; 6-way and 3-way. You enter the 6-way by choosing three different digits (e.g. 1-2-3) whilst the 3-way is for entries of just two different digits where one digit is repeated in the sequence (e.g. 1-2-1).
Wheel - A Straight play on every combination of your numbers. For instance, if you wheeled the numbers 1-2-3, the possible combos are: 1-2-3; 2-1-3; 3-1-2; 1-3-2; 3-2-1 and 2-3-1. A $0.50 Wheel base play = $3 ($0.50 x 6 bets). A $1 Wheel base play = $6 ($1 x 6 bets).
Back-Up - Combines one Straight bet and one Boxed bet - the Straight play is "backed up" with the Box play. If you win on the Straight bet, you receive both the Straight and Box payouts. If you win on the Boxed bet, you receive the Box payout. The minimum wager is $1.
Pairs - Win if the two numbers you pick match in the exact right location. You can do the first two (Front), last two (Back), or the first and last (Split).
Pick 3 is drawn twice every day - once in the afternoon at 12:29 PM and again in the evening at 7:29 PM. On Saturdays, the evening drawing takes place during the Cash Explosion television show.
To purchase a Pick 3 ticket in Ohio, you must be at least 18 years old.
