Pick 5 is an Ohio Lottery game with two draws every day and the chance to take home as much as $50,000 on a $1 bet. You can choose from Straight, Boxed, Pair or Back-Up wagers and it costs as little as $0.50 to play. Draws are held daily at 12:29 PM EST (Midday) and 7:29 PM (Evening), except for Saturday night. To enter the next draw, pick up your tickets before sales close at 12:25 PM and 7:25 PM. On Saturdays, the evening draw is held during the Cash Explosion Game Show, on TV statewide from 7:30-8:00 PM. Ticket sales close at 7:45 PM.

The first thing you have to do is choose which play type you want to wager on. You have Straight (match in exact order), Box (match in any order), Front or Back (match a set number of digits at the start or end) or Back-Up (enter both straight and box together).
You then need to pick which digits to enter. If you have entered the Box or Back-Up method, then the digits you choose will affect your payouts. Picking duplicate numbers decreases the number of possibilities you can enter, making the odds better but the prizes lower. Each digit needs to be between 0-9 for all 5 slots.
Pick how much you want to wager that your numbers will match your play type. The minimum entry fee is 50¢ for all play types except Back-Up, where you must enter at least $1.
Select which draw you want to enter. By default, you will be entered into the next draw, but you can select a specific draw if you wish or multiple draws at once.
Straight - If all five of your numbers are drawn in exact order, you win - up to $50,000 on a $1 bet (minimum wager $0.50).
Box - If all five of your numbers are drawn in any order, you win. Wager $0.50 or $1. There are six boxed bet styles: 120-way (five unique numbers), 60-way (pair of same number, plus three unique numbers), 30-way (two different pairs and a single unique number), 20-way (three of the same number and two unique numbers), 10-way (three of one number and pair of another number) and 5-way (four of the same number and one unique number).
Front or Back - Bet the first two, three or four numbers, OR the last two, three or four numbers, in exact order. This adds up to six Front/Back bet styles
Back-Up - Combines a Straight and Boxed bet on one ticket. A Straight win receives both the Straight and Boxed prizes. A Boxed win receives just the Boxed prize. It has a minimum wager of $1.
There are two Pick 5 draws every day. The times are 12:29 PM and 7:29 PM, except Saturday when the drawing is held a few minutes later during the Cash Explosion Game that is broadcast on TV.
In Ohio, you have to be at least 18 years old to play any lottery game.
The price of a ticket is either $0.50 or $1 depending on the player's wager.
