A fifth number, known as the Wild Ball, is randomly selected as part of the draw from its own range of 0 to 9. You can use this number to replace any of the four numbers in the main winning line. For example, if you play 1234 and the winning numbers are 1239, this would usually be a loss. However, if the Wild Ball drawn is a 4, you can swap this number in for the 9 to give you a win. Cash 4 is simple to play, though there are multiple play types to maximize your chances of winning of various cash prizes. Follow these steps to get started:
You can play Cash 4 in several ways. Straight bets win by matching the numbers in exact order, whereas a Box bet allows you to win by matching them in any order. Pick wisely and enjoy a play style personal to you.
Pick a four-digit number from 0 to 9. Mark one digit per column on your playslip, or select Quick Pick (QP) to receive a random selection. You may choose the same number multiple times.
Each play costs either $0.50 or $1.00. Higher wagers generally increase potential payouts, so pick carefully again to maximize your chances of winning.
You can play your numbers for one draw or multiple consecutive draws, for as many as 14 draws in a row. You may also choose to play the ‘Next 2’ or Next 3’ draws.
Add the Wild Ball to boost your chances of winning (more details in the Wild Ball Odds and Prizes section above). The Wild Ball doubles the cost of a wager and increases your chances of winning by allowing you to replace any one of the four lottery-drawn numbers with the Wild Ball number to create new winning combinations.
Straight - Match the four-digit number in exact order. Wager $0.50 or $1.00.
Box - Match the four numbers in any order. Prizes vary based on the number of unique digits (4-Way, 6-Way, 12-Way, or 24-Way). Wager $0.50 or $1.00.
Straight/Box - A combined $1.00 play ($0.50 Straight, $0.50 Box). Win both if you match in exact order; win the Box prize only if you match in any other order.
Combination - Covers all possible Straight combinations of your numbers on one ticket. Depending on the numbers chosen, the cost ranges from $4.00 to $24.00.
Pairs - Play for the first two digits (**Front Pair**) or the last two digits (**Back Pair**). Match them in exact order to win. Wager $0.50 or $1.00.
